NES Parking Garage Repair Project

When Nashville Electric Service needed to extend the life of its primary parking structure, the goal was clear: complete major repairs without disrupting daily operations. Charter partnered with the general contractor to shore the deck for heavy milling equipment and install a reinforced concrete bonded overlay across the elevated slab. After the asphalt was removed and the existing concrete deck underwent surface preparation, Charter used innovative techniques to apply a “concrete bonded overlay” on the existing slab, which included drilling approximately 14,500 rebar dowels across the entire parking deck. Both the shoring and Concrete Overlay were phased out to keep both the elevated parking structure and parking below open during construction. The work strengthened a critical facility that supports NES and significantly extended the lifespan of their parking structure.
