Originally built in 1975, the Tennessee Legislative Plaza in downtown Nashville began a massive, multi-year renovation and restoration project in 2025.
As a concrete contractor for the larger renovation, Charter’s team identified concrete damage throughout the garage during mobilization. Drawing on the expertise of its Restoration & Repair Division, the team surveyed the damage, documented the conditions, and worked with the project team to develop a repair plan.
The team’s scope included overhead spall repairs, top slab repairs, full-depth slab repairs, and crack repairs, with the full-depth repairs added after identifying additional deterioration during the repair process.
Because no two repairs were quite the same, the team assessed each area, adapted to the conditions they found, and followed the engineer’s procedures to determine the right approach. With Charter’s superintendent working closely with Skanska and the other trades on site, the team kept the work moving and delivered each repair to the required standards.
