Charter Construction completed the structural concrete scope for a parking garage at the Nashville Zoo, expanding visitor parking capacity at one of the city’s most visited attractions. Working with Solomon Builders, the team constructed the two-level garage using more than 21,000 cubic yards of concrete, over 1,000 tons of reinforcing steel, and 381,00 lbs of post-tension cable. Early excavation revealed unexpected subsurface conditions that required adjustments to foundation design and sequencing. Despite the challenges, the project was completed two months ahead of schedule.
