Balcony Repair for Fifth + Broadway

Charter Construction’s Restoration & Repair Division repaired 11 balconies at the Fifth + Broadway residential tower in downtown Nashville. The work included removing existing handrail assemblies and traffic coating, repairing concrete spalling, replacing deteriorated grout within the handrail pockets, reinstalling the handrails, and applying a new traffic coating system. 

Because the balconies sit above an active retail plaza and the building remained occupied throughout construction, the team developed a detailed approach to protect residents, pedestrians, and crews while maintaining the project schedule. Charter completed the work in just over two months, turning over each balcony on an aggressive 2.5-day schedule.
